Airport Restaurant & Gin Mill Sign
OK, there is a hurricane approaching. I get it - safety and all of that - but a little tropical storm is no reason to close the bars. The only bar open in town is the Airport Restaurant & Gin Mill. It has always been one of my favorites and, after today, it will remain a top pick.

My mom is about 20 miles east of you in Port Orange. Well, she was .....she came up north the other day , since she’s right on Rose Bay and there really isn’t anything to stop the storm surge there.
Cheers, and stay safe.

Remember, it’s not that the wind is blowing....

The storm did not live up to predictions here , at least, so far. Now, we are supposed to only get 30 mph winds. Believe me, I am not complaining, but it is interesting to see the reactions. After all of the hype, people are almost disappointed.

No doubt, the Bahamas took a direc t hit, and there is a lot of devastation . It looks like the storm mostly missed us. A lot of people are planning to donate their hurricane preparedness supplies to the Bahamas.

It hasn’t missed you yet. Still south of you and moving Northwest, but as you know should turn mostly north over the next 24 hours. Lets hope there are no more changes, as most of the models now suggest.
SC/Outer Banks will be the next concern.
